About: Dr. Gattie’s research is in the area of energy policy and integrated energy resource planning for the power sector with a particular focus on the national security implications of U.S. nuclear power. He established the university’s first environmental engineering undergraduate program in 2009—which he ushered through full accreditation in 2012—and he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in energy systems and energy security for both the College of Engineering and the Center for International Trade and Security.
