3rd Wednesday – Annette Hynes | Modeling Estuarine Metabolism

Dr. Annette Hynes discusses time-series measurements of the Duplin River.

For our last Third Wednesday of the spring, Dr. Annette Hynes from UGA Marine Sciences presented a  harmonic analysis of long-term DO time series from stationary sondes to calculate temporal estimates of GPP, CR, and NEP in both the Plum Island Estuary and the Sapelo Island Estuary (Duplin River, GA). These long-term studies can aid examination of the effects of nutrient loading, sediment loading, river discharge, sea level rise, and temperature on estuarine community metabolism.
