Odum School MS student Emily Johnson awarded the Spencer Fellowship
Emily Johnson has been awarded the inaugural Spencer Fellowship, a new award honoring former Odum School of Ecology / River Basin Center master’s student John Spencer. Emily is an incoming student pursuing a master’s degree in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Development at the Odum School of Ecology. She plans to continue and extend the urban stream research work begun by John Spencer, working with Amy Rosemond, Seth Wenger and Phillip Bumpers. The Spencer Fellowship was created with an endowment from John Spencer’s parents and friends in order to honor his memory by offering opportunities for students to pursue master’s degrees in the areas of freshwater ecology, restoration and management.
