Southeastern Naturalists has accepted a paper by James Wood, Meryom Pattillo and Mary Freeman

The Southeastern Naturalists has accepted a paper by James Wood, Meryom Pattillo (Undegrad, ecology 2015), and Mary Freeman entitled Organic Matter Retention and Macroinvertebrate Utilization of Seasonally Inundated Bryophytes in a Mid-order Piedmont River. The paper describes how bryophytes in the Middle Oconee River that are only submerged during high water levels are utilized by aquatic insects, possibly because the bryophytes provide protection from predation and retain large amounts of organic matter which increases food resources available to invertebrates.
