UGA Freshwater Science Reunion January 11-12

The River Basin Center has organized a freshwater ecology reunion coordinated with the Odum School of Ecology’s 50/10 celebration this week.  Beginning with a welcome social at Little Kings Shuffle Club on Thursday evening, January 11th, the reunion will continue with several events on the 12th that will be held at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, in the “Terrace Room” – located in the Garden Club of Georgia.  Friday’s activities will consist of lunch and discussions including topics: “Freshwater conservation in challenging times” and “What are the next big questions in freshwater ecology?” The evening ends with drinks at The Globe after the traditional First Friday in the Ecology courtyard.  The reunion ends with the John K. Spencer Memorial 5K Run-Walk held in memory of John K Spencer, MS’ 17.  Proceeds support the Spencer Memorial small grant funds for graduate students.
