Qiong Wang

Qiong Wang is an assistant professor at the College of Environment and Design. She holds a Ph.D. in Planning, Governance, and Globalization from Virginia Tech. Additionally, she possesses a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. Her research focuses on climate resilience, encompassing both mitigation and adaptation, environmental planning and policy, and sustainability. Qiong’s research emphasizes understanding local decision-making dynamics, supporting local adaptation planning and implementation, and policy innovation in the United States. Before joining UGA, she received interdisciplinary research training in the Disaster Resilience and Risk Management program and secured national and state-level grants. After earning her master’s degree, she gained professional experience as a landscape architect at various international urban planning and landscape design firms.
