2024-2025 – Formed project team and developed a community engagement strategy and outreach materials
Current Phase
The community engagement team will be conducting outreach with communities downstream of Lloyd Shoals Dam to Macon throughout the summer of 2026.
Our goals in this phase are to introduce our project to communities in the project area and learn about their relation to or experiences with the Ocmulgee River and Juliette Dam. As part of this phase, we will invite community members to complete a survey about the river and dam. We will share the results with the community during future engagement and on the website. Our team will also use the results to inform our project’s engagement strategy (e.g., working group, focus groups by topic, public meetings, etc.) and help identify individuals interested in greater participation in the project
