The Confluence Graduate Water Research Poster Contest attracted three dozen student researchers last week to share their findings in the third-annual event at the Richard B. Russell Special Collections Library.

Graduate students across disciplines—including the College of Engineering, Odum School of Ecology, Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources, College of Agriculture & Environmental Sciences, Crop and Soil Sciences, Agricultural and Applied Economics, College of Environment and Design, Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems, Departments of Geology, Geography and Anthropology—presented. 

The 2025 winners included:

1st Prize ($550):
Lina Caro,  School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering

2nd Prize ($300 each):
Kathryn Kahn, School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering
Taylor Faherty, Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources 

3rd Prize ($200 each):
Shishir Rao, Odum School of Ecology 
Clare DeBerry, School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering

Sponsors included the University of Georgia Graduate School, the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Department of Geography, Department of Geology, Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems, Odum School of Ecology, and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. 

The panel of faculty and postdoc judges included Jon Calabria, Don Nelson, Seth Wenger, Charles Van Rees, Philip Bumpers, Irene Gonzalez, Charlotte Garing, and Felix Santiago-Collazo.
