The 2025 Georgia Water Resources Conference brought together ecologists, hydrologists, engineers, geoscientists, lawyers, anthropologists, consultants and certified fish enthusiasts at the University of Georgia. Over two days, this interdisciplinary group of scientists and practitioners from across academia, nonprofits, industry, and government explored complex challenges, growing opportunities and potential solutions in the world of water science and policy in the Southeast.
The conference brought together more than 350 attendees for 125 talks or panel discussions on topics ranging from flood modeling to green infrastructure to nature-based solutions.
The biennial Georgia Water Resources Conference has been a collaborative effort between the River Basin Center and the Georgia Water Resources Institute at Georgia Tech since May 1989. The goal of the event is to provide an open forum for the discussion of current water policies, research, projects, and water management in Georgia and beyond.
