Jeffrey Hepinstall-Cymerman

Associate Professor in Landscape Ecology in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources

  • (706) 583-8097

Dr. Hepinstall is a landscape ecologist, and he is interested in studying patterns across landscapes. He applies spatial data and modeling techniques to ecological and social systems to measure patterns and processes and to explore the interactions between coupled natural and human systems. Dr. Hepinstall explores landscape changes using remotely sensed data, historic data, and spatial modeling techniques including GIS, cellular automata, and individual—or agent-based—modeling. He works with planners and conservationists to incorporate this perspective into the planning for and conservation of natural and human resources.
