RBC Announces Winners for Second Annual Confluence Poster Contest

On Friday, Oct. 18, the River Basin Center hosted its second annual water science and policy poster symposium, Confluence, at the Richard B. Russell Special Collections Library.

This year featured 29 posters from graduate students across disciplines, including the College of Engineering, Odum School of Ecology, Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources, College of Agriculture & Environmental Sciences, Crop and Soil Sciences, Agriculture Leadership, Education & Communication, Agricultural and Applied Economics, College of Environment and Design, Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems,  Departments of Geology, Geography and Anthropology.

Two first prizes of $600 each were awarded to:

Kaili Gregory, Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources

Olajide Oladipo, Department of Geology

A second prize of $400 dollars was award to:

Taylor Faherty, Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources

Six third place prizes of $200 each were awarded to:

Kwaku Asiedu, Department of Geology

Swaty Kajaria, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

Luciana Iannone Tarcha, College of Engineering

Monika Giri, Department of Anthropology

Shishir Rao, Odum School of Ecology

Marco Garcia, College of Engineering

The judges’ panel was comprised of faculty, as well as postdoctoral researchers and scholars. Judges included Raven Bier, Jon Calabria, Jiaojing Ding, Duncan Elkins, Jason Donaldson, Megan Gomes, Susan Wilde, Don Nelson, Gideon Oyeku, Fatemeh Rezaei, Arpita Shome, and Seth Wenger.
